Maddie's First Doctor's Appointment

We took Madelyn to her first doctor's appointment today. A friend kept Anna for us so that my husband and I could both go. The main purpose of the first visit is the weight check to see if the baby has gotten back to his/her birth weight. This is usually expected to happen within the first two weeks and periodic weight checks are scheduled to make sure the baby is eating well and gaining weight. Madelyn dropped from 7 lbs 11 oz to 7 lbs 4 oz prior to leaving the hospital but surprisingly hit 7 lbs 12.5 oz today! The doctor was pleased and said he didn't need to see her again until she is a month old. Needless to say, breastfeeding is going well and Maddie is a great eater.
