Time is going so fast! At seven months Eli has 4.5 teeth and is sitting really well. His favorite activity these days is sitting on the floor surrounded by toys. He has gotten really good at bringing everything to his mouth.
This blue eyed cutie melts my heart. He is practicing sitting, loves the jumperoo and smiles often. We had a little set back with baby food and he has decided that only chunks of food will do for him so he is now eating off of our plates. He currently has 2 teeth. He has experimented with the high chair and shopping cart and done great.
At his 4 month appointment he was:

Weight: 17 3/4 lbs
Height: 27 inches

He's now wearing 12-18 month clothes! He's had a little bit of foods including rice cereal, sweet potatoes and pears.

Eli has rolled over a few times from his belly to his back but probably needs to spend more time on his belly.

I love how he watches me or his sisters as we move about the house though lately he's started crying if he sees me walk away. He's learned how to hang out in the exersaucer and jumperoo.

At night Eli goes to bed around 7 and is getting up 2-3 times :(.
Ava is a super smiley little girl and full of life. She loves being around people (even if its via facetime). She is talking so much with her favorite words being 'baby' and 'hat'. She loves sweets, reading books and carrying around a baby doll at all times. She adores her sisters and loves to chase them around. She is sweet to her brother who she refers to as 'E-I'. This little girls brings so much joy to our family.
In February, Anna and Maddie went to a Father Daughter Dance at their dance studio. The event was a little crowded but the pictures together are adorable :).

At Elijah's one month appointment he was:

Weight: 11 lbs 15.5 ounces (91 percentile)
Height: 22.7 inches (91 percentile)
Head: 39.1 cm (92 percentile)

At one month he is eating well, sleeping great (will go 4-5 hours at night) and starting to outgrow his 0-3 month clothes. His demeanor seems laid back to me but he has a screech of a cry that is rather demanding. His eyes are still a dark blue and the little hair he has is blonde. He is a such a joyful addition to our family!
Here's his birth story:

We anticipated Eli's arrival for weeks before his due date of February 14th. Oma came to stay, we packed our bags, I made a detailed list of everywhere the girls needed to be etc but he had his own time. I was scheduled to be induced the evening of Feb 19th, 5 days after my due date. All day I waited for the call from the hospital. At 5:00pm we decided to go out to eat near the hospital (taking 2 cars so Oma could bring the girls home). Minutes before we left for dinner I started have contractions but of course I wasn't sure if they were "real" so I kept it to myself. We left for dinner and I told Erik when we got to the restaurant that I thought I was in labor but I really really wanted to eat dinner. Against his instincts he started ordering and I took the girls to the table and tried to sit down. As soon as I tried to sit I knew it was time to go! We opted for a quick run through the Wendy's drive thru and headed to the hospital. After hearing from the doctor, we went inside and were taken to a room by a nurse - it was now about 6:30. As we settled into the room the nurse was having trouble with the computer and was in no hurry to get things moving. Meanwhile my contractions were getting faster and faster and I wanted to get the antibiotic drip started as soon as possible (who has time to call tech support???). Thankfully at 7pm the nursing shift changed and a fabulous nurse took over (who had no problems with the computer) and the process started. My mom came to visit for a few minutes and soon my contractions were coming every minute or two. They laid me down and everything became a blur.

I remember Dr. Placide telling me he was going to break my water and in my mind all I could think was "but I need the antibiotics and it is safer to wait closer to delivery to break my water". I guess I still thought I had hours to go; plus my epidural wasn't here yet! He broke my water, they rolled me over and all of the sudden my body wanted to push. I now laugh at those times I thought women could just hold the baby in by crossing their legs, hah! There is no going against God's design of the body. It was the most amazing feeling I had ever felt, a feeling hindered at previous births by the epidural. I told them I needed to push and they said ok. WHAT??? I thought you rolled me over to give me an epidural, isn't this where you tell me its too soon to push?? The joke was on me - - they all knew it was time. And so I pushed a few times and there he was, a gigantic bundle of joy. Elijah John Burckart was born at 8:02pm weighing in at 9 lbs, 8 ounces and was 22 inches long!!
Six years separates these pictures. The same outfit, love for a sippy cup and even the same walker in the background. Life chasing a curious little one with another little bundle on the way. It could all feel similar but praise be to God that I am not the same; that the Lord has grown me and is continuing to grow me in Him. How I love these little blessings the Lord has given our family (and of course the spunky little girl in between and the little boy I am still not sure I am going to know what to do with :)). I can't wait to look back over the next 6 years and all the Lord is going to do in our family.Raleigh Momhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10590383265114591792noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8718993142610750143.post-54357439023763137022013-11-08T22:32:00.000-05:002013-11-08T22:32:42.852-05:00Anna's 7th Birthday!
